I really don't understand. Some people look like crap and their mad popular. My friends are a lot prettier than the popular people and they have less friends, and less boys chasing them. Some of the popular people are trashy looking and have every boy after them and tons of friends. I just don't understand.

PERSONALITY and how you handle yourself you have to love yourself and be full of confidence for others to see y ou that way. when i was in school i was hott now that i look back had the looks and face but i was not popular y because i was so shy and because if you told me to go stand in the street i would well now i am older and i am still pretty but not like i use to be but i am full of confidence and know i am an awsome person so every one hangs with me and to be honnest i have guys who hit on me all the time now. its all because of how i feel about myself.

Maybe you are in one of the great places where popularity is determined by personality and not looks. Of course, it could be they have $$$... but the truth is that people, in general, like other people because they are nice, kind, easy to talk to, etc. NOT BY LOOKS!!! Looks fade with age or with a tragic accident or illness... Looks don't last... Personality does... Would you rather spend eternity with someone who looked good for 10 or 20 years but was a shallow, annoying pain in the butt, or with someone who you got along with well? Stop thinking looks are so important, obviously the rest of your school has... True beauty lies in the soul. You are behind in maturing, kiddo, so GROW UP!!!

Sometimes chicks who are hot (as in looks) have crappy personalities and are stuck on themselves...really a bore to be around.
And then others who maybe ain't so great lookin are fun to be with and they got really cool personalities. That way people like to be around em.
And then also there's this stuff about beauty in the eyes of the beholder which means people's idea of good lookin ain't the same.

maybe when u say ugly, you mean slutty. that does the trick for guys. and ugly people need to have a great personality to cover up for their looks to survive socially. its just a cycle. everybody will grow out of it and evolve into their shallow selves
