Well we have a family poker night evey Friday night so the family can get together and spend time..... I always tell people I cannot do anthing that night because its poker night. But, last night everyone was doing other things and didnt want to play and said we'll just play Saturday. I said I cant because Im busy... It made me kinda mad because they made other plans on our family poker night when I always put mine off. Does anyone else see this as wrong? Was I wrong for being mad?? about it??

You didn't do anything wrong, neither did they... things do come up once in a while and everbody gets busy. This is life.

You have your plans, go according to them, you don't have to cancel whatever thing you have just because family decided they don't want to play on the exact night. Maybe you should tell them the next time they want to cancel they should do it like a couple of days earlier so you can organize your schedule according to it. No big deal.

No. ur not wrong. They can't change the traditions that ur family have and they lied to you and said they were having poker night when really they went some where else. I understand sis. Just talk to them and tell them how you feel.

No you were not wrong. Tell them that on family night its for family and nothing else. You put your plans on hold so why are they renigging on family rules. If the family wants/needs to change the day then change it, but you should voice your opinion about it because you had every right to be angry about it. Take care Heather

This is a very small thing to be mad about. Nicely, let them know that you look forward to playing with them so much, you don't make plans for that night and to please keep Friday's for poker for you.

see if you can talk them into a Sunday poker game rather than Friday every week. Friday is for partying with friends, Sunday is family day.

You're not being selfish.
You've got a life and I'd be pretty mad too if I canceled all of my plans and then I find out family night is canceled. You've got every right to be mad.

It's okay to be upset that you have scheduled your life for this moment and everyone else is not taking the Friday as serious as you are. Should everyone else take this Friday thing as etched in stone, I don't think so.

eh, i think its ok that one friday they made other plans.. as long as they are ok that you couldnt get together saturday. It would be unreasonable for them to take EVERY FRIDAY of their life to play family poiker night.
