Hello everybody, I have a question. I am about 5'8" and weight app. 130 lb. Actually I don't know what to say about how much I weigh. In the morning, when I weigh myself before breakfast or shower or anything, I weight around 125 lb. By the end of the day, I weigh sometimes as much as 137 lb. What is going on? I know that it is normal for you to lose some weight during the night, but 10+ lbs? Is that normal?

It's normal to loose weight at night, and gain weight durring the day, but usually it varies from 2-6 pounds. If you're gaining 10, you might want to ask your doc.

the best time to weigh is first thing in the morning. During the day you are eating and drinking and retaining salt.

Does this happen every day? It could be when you weigh during the day you have just eaten or drank something. I know that it takes a few days for true weight gain to show but if you eat a huge dinner it's going to show up as extra weight on the scale right then just because the dinner itself has weight. A better way to explain that is if you swallow a 5lb rock (just an example people!!) you will be 5 lbs heavier right then.

you don't really lose weight during the night. you burn some calories and since most people wake up, go to the bathroom and then weigh themselves that is when you are at your lowest weight. it is natural for your weight to fluctuate throughout the day though. especially if you have a healthy appetite.

I hope it's normal- because my weight fluctuates like that too. That seems a little low for 5'8 though.

your scale can be wrong
weighing yourself on two different scales can be a problem too.
