You don't let it go unless you know the cause, you're treating it, and your doctor knows about it. See your doctor, please. Best wishes.

A fever indicates an infection. Unlike children, adults do not usually run fevers as much or as high as kids. Do you have a fever with other symptoms?
I think the rule of thumb is after 3 days of over 101 contact your doctor. When it doubt, check it out. It will at the very least give you peace of mind. Give the doc's office a call if after a few days you are still running a temp., let them make the decision of whether you should get checked out or not.

Fever is actually your friend. It is just your body dealing with things the way it's designed to do. Unless you're really uncomfortable with other symptoms, you probably don't even need to see a doc. 101 is nothing to worry about. If it goes over 103 see a doc though.

Take a tylenol to reduce the temperature. 101 isn't that high. I would try to reduce it with tylenol and rest, keep checking it and if it increases, seek help.
Unless of course you have poor health or health conditions/problems. Then you'll want to do something.

a fever of 101 is really not a big deal ,just take tylenol and a warm shower (no cold) or hot shower ,cuz a warm shower makes your vesels arise close to the skin and that would make u sweat and that's what u really want when running a fever...

A temperature of 101 is not in itself dangerous, nor does it suggest the presence of a dangerous infection. But it does suggest the presence of SOME infection, so if it goes on much beyond three days, seek medical attention.
