Can you die if you take too much syrup of Ipecac at once?

the Ipecac itself will not kill you. you will never be able to igest enough in one sitting to actaully overdose since it makes you vomit. the heart damage that it will cause is from the constant involuntary and quite violent muscle spasms that are caused when you body is subjected to induced vomiting. This eventually will cause irregular heart beat and a host of other damage wich can be fatal. it will also cause ulcers in the trake and esophigus from the stomach acids over prolonged periods.

Mostly you would vomit it up. A large amount retained could be toxic, but that would rarely happen.
