An old fashioned door jam! At least while you are in it he can't get in!

It's going to be hard to do without your mom's help. What you can do is put the things that you really don't want him to get into in a locked trunk, and keep the key with you. Mom might let you get a lock on your door if she can have the other key. That's what I did for my daughter.

Balance a bucket of confetti...or something worse on the top of your door so that when he opens it it will dump on him. I've only seen this happen on TV so I don't know if it actually works. Either that or sit on him and tickle him every time he does it. You cant get in trouble for tickling him.
A trick I used when I went out was to close my door on a piece of thread or yarn, so if the door was opened, the thread would fall, and I knew someone had been in my room. Then you can say "I know you were in my room" but don;t tell him how you know.

If he's bothering you, make a sign that flips. One side says some thing like "Come on in!" and the other one like "Busy! Go away!" Your mom should know that everyone needs personal space and privacy. See the next time you walk into her room without knocking.

Hey mom! We are all entitled to some privacy just the same as you are. Please reconsider and buy a $5 locking knob. You can have the key because you need to know she is safe from whatever can go on behind locked doors.

Tell mom you need your privacy and your brother is intruding on your personal space and property.
Get a wedge to put under your door (a door-jam).
Is your door-handle a round one? Coat it in something greasy, olive oil or vaseline.... makes it hard to open and leaves him with a yukky hand.

Every time he goes in your room, go in his room and find his favorite thing and hide it. Don't say anything, just take it. Then when all his stuff has disappeared, go to him and say, "Did you like it when I went in your room and took all your stuff? Well I don't like it either." Then if he wants his stuff back, tell him to stay out or his stuff disappears permanently. If your mom won't help, you have to teach him to respect you on your own.

Does he go to his room with the door shut. Do it to him. Interupt him too, whatever he is doing. My brothers would have beaten me up. Now days that would not work.
