You will NOT find any cruises for 14 days for the price you want to pay, period, regardless of where you look.
BUT, you can get a 7-day cruise for about $600 to $700 each; total of about $1500. But this will be an inside cabin (no window or porthole) and you will still have to include the cost of getting to the departure port and back home (which can add a couple hundred dollars for each of you) AND you have to factor in the gratuities and other expenses you will have on ship for drinks, gifts and tours (all food and beverages are included). That can add another couple hundred dollars.
I just looked at a 7-day cruise out of Puerto Rica to the Southern Caribbean on Royal Caribbean. It is selling inside cabins on certain dates for $650. So you can squeeze a 7-day cruise in your budget if you just shop cruise line web sites AND go when the fare is the cheapest. If you live in or near a port city like Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa, Houston, NY City, LA, or San Diego, you can save some by driving to the port rather than flying. But parking will run you about $12 a day.
