My 3 kids have all seen me naked and my husband - they still do my eldest is 8 and she is not remotely embarrassed - cant remember the last time i got a shower or bath in peace for them barging into the bathroom. My girls come in and tell me all their worries as they find it gives them peace from their siblings to talk things over.
I think its very unhealthy to promote at such a young age a dislike of the human form - anyone that thinks its twisted really needs to take a tumble to themselves.

It's all about what you feel comfortable with, I suppose. I'd have no problem with that, but unfortunately, given the current climate when primary can't put their arm around a crying 5 yr old, I would not bet on this not being misinterpreted. What about the prepubescent kids banned from wearing 2 piece suits on the grounds these were indecent?
Crazy? Yes it is.

This world is getting nuts nowadays. There are some people who work at photo developing places who, if they see a picture of a child in the tub and NO private areas showing, would STILL turn the parents in!
It turns into a huge witch hunt!
But I generally don't let my son in the bathroom when I'm getting dressed because I want to instill a sense of modesty in him. That's just how I'm raising him.
I hear Japanese families bathe together, and while that gets a raised eyebrow out of me, I just shrug and figure, oh well.

It is a terrible thing what we 'normal' folks have to worry about these days. I let my son bath with me on occassion until he was about five years old. I also tried to downplay that there was anything mysterious or naughty about being naked. There is nothing sexual about basic nudity. We're frikkin born that way after all.
Only pervs immediately think 'sex' when they think 'naked'. Babies love to run around naked, and if a four year old gets a glimpse of something, it can easily turn into a anatomy lesson rather than something sick and dirty.
There is nothing dirty about the body of a man or woman. To think otherwise would be to assume that doctors who operate or work in the emergency room are all embarressed or dirtyminded... you know?
it is really sad that we have to be so careful and prudish about perfectly natural things with our children thanks to a few sick people.
I agree with you. Puritanical ideas are dangerous and just as sick sometimes.

It is PC gone crazy, EVERYONE is scared of being classed as a paedophile!
Including myself!
I saw a couple of kids trying to fly a kite, and the kite did not have a tail, so I got some string and weights, and was just about to go outside when I thought, How do I word this?
Let me stick a tail on your kite?
You need a long tail?
So I did not bother!
lol
It is a CRAZY world we live in!

You are so right. What on earth is wrong with members of the same family seeing each other naked? I mean for god sake it's just a body, we see images of naked people all around in the media. Go down to benidorm beach in the summer and most of them might as well be. So what's wrong with being naked in your own home. Do we want our children to grow up with a complex about their bodies?

That was my question! I have inspired another question! I am famous!
Seriously though, I was getting a bit worried because the first few answers were so anti seeing your mother naked I was worried social services would come and cart her away, or I was causing her mental problems later on. Having read the rest of the replies I am going to just carry on as usual, when she doesn't want to see she won't come in the bathroom anymore!

Crazy it may be but they are right. Today's PC climate is very dangerous for this kind of thing. Parents who have taken photos of their naked babies on a blanket have received visits from the police after being reported by the processing house.

If you try to hide your nakedness from your small children, you may cause them to feel ashamed of their own bodies. They will develope a sense of modesty on their own time. I bathe with my 4yr old & 2yr old sometimes. Even though I change in front of her, my oldest is already closing her door when she gets dressed. I respect her privacy and make sure she knows when we have company, just in case she's bathing or dressing when they show up.

I've never hidden myself from my kids, a girl and boy. And i think we shouldnt. Well... i am a single parent so the experience of my kids seeing a naked man hasnt ever occured, but my children are adults now. The bathroom door is always open... my children come in the bathroom when i'm having a bath and chat with me. We're not afraid of seeing each other, although my son is pretty private for himself and it doesnt bother me. But i think its natural... well for us anyway.
