I haven't stood in the middle of an ant bed or heap, but I've stood close to anthills barefoot, and I much prefer it over doing so shod! Barefoot, you'll notice right away, when only a few ants are on your foot. That way you can move and wipe them off quickly. I've also stood close to an anthill wearing boots, not fireants but the big red biters... but of course I didn't feel anything when they crawled up my boot, I didn't notice until they'd made it all the way up to the top of my boots and reached the skin of my legs... I had to take my pants off, shook them out, shook my boots out best I could, but I still missed a few, even several hours later I still found one last ant I had missed when it bit me!

In the last ten years since I've been barefoot everywhere, nothing like this has happened to me... however it has to several shoe & boots-wearing friends... and a couple times I rescued them because I felt them on my feet and they could also move quickly but they wouldn't have noticed until the ants had reached their skin if I hadn't warned them.

yes. i am slightly allergic to ants and once at a party my friends cousins pushed me in a fire ant bed and my foot got bitten up. it took a month for it to go away. yes, it hurts. baking soda and water mixed together make the itching stop.

more advantageous or a lot less in spite of you doesn't do along with your palms--too chilly, too sharp, or too warm--also protecting in ideas that in lots of circumstances the foot arch does no longer reinforce very a lot. even if, warm pavement is something i'm engaged on getting used to for longer status with out having to flow to a cooler floor or color, and far longer walking formerly the nice and cozy temperature is so severe i opt to flow to a cooler floor or color. I for sure do not favor 0.33 degree burns, yet even blacktop warm sufficient to blister bare feet is okay. I in simple terms drain the blisters formerly today going living house, and then manage the blisters such as an afternoon or 2 of no longer likely barefoot. Blisters that do not reattach progressively peel off. Blisters that do reattach teach as tremendous-looking calluses even as the feet are even fairly dirty--a distinct visual attraction of harder soles.
