I had bad sinuses so I was prescribed to Zithromax. I have been taking it for two days now. I know it is not a good idea to mix medicine and alcohol but since today is St.Patricks Day and all, I was wondering how bad it really is? Did anyone ever do this before? Should I stop taking it today if I want to drink tonight? Thanks for the help!

Please listen to me what you are taking is an antibiotic, never mix antibiotics with alcohol, you could get anumber of side effects : nausea, vomiting, dihorea increased heart rate, any way so we've got that clear the next thing to explain is when your taking antibiotics you have to use them for the full course prescribed with no alcohol or mixing with other drugs. Otherwise they will not work. Antibiotics kill the bad bacteria that cause infection, but they also kill the good bacteria that helps your immune system, so drinking when your immune system is down isn't very good for you. I would suggest you don't drink at all and keep taking your antibiotics and you'll feel a lot better. I really hope you take my advice, I know it sucks, no fun and all that, but just listen PLEASE

Don't stop taking your antibiotic, you need to keep taking it for 10 days for it to really work. I definately would not drink due to the side effects of Zithromax.
