My mother is 60.
She's in Nebraska. I'm in Wisconsin. I love our arrangement; stay as far away from her as possible. Last time I spoke to her was 5 years ago. The best thing I ever did for our 'relationship'.
I have "collected" women in my life that fit into a "Mother" role, and it is those women who have taught me friendship, love, role modeling in parenting, life, work, faith. I am extremely grateful to each of them.

My mother is 20 years older than I am and I am almost 50. We live quite a distance away from one another, but we talk on the phone every day (at least once). I have two daughters who are 25 and 29 years younger than me. I am close with both girls, but one lets me in a little more.
As I have gotten older I have become closer with my mother. When we were young, she was very busy and life was not great with my father. My ONLY problem is that my mother complains about so many things. BUT I still love her.

my mom is 65. she is 2000 miles away. i live in orange county california. no i do not like the way things are between us, but i rather keep distance from us~ she was extremelly abusive..emotionally, mentally and physically towards me and she was also abusive towards my children and a hateful cold heartless person that is selfish and does illegal stuff ...she stole my child support check and forged my name and also claimed 1 of my kids on her taxes so she would not have to pay much back at end of the yr...oh she makes 45 bucks an hour and i am a housewife! for her to do something like that and live 2000 miles away and not even have anything to do w/my kids is horrible. i know there r good moms out there, but mine is a bad bad seed~

My mother died when she was 36. I was 17. She was very sick and acting not like herself. No one, except her and her docs, knew she was sick. She died on April 1, 1987. i am now 37 with a cute little boy of my own. I miss her very much. I could really use her advice on my son. Next time YOUR mom makes you mad, remember, you still have her.
