The bar at least doesn't take reservations. I have waited at their bar while waiting for a table even with reservations. If you get to the bar wait it out for a few minutes because there will be people moving out. Also go by 9:pm because after that there will be like minded people looking for dinner at the bar. One last thing, try opentable.com they may have a table left even if you called the restaraunt and they said there are no tables left.

One time we just showed up around 5 ish. They gave a table right in the fron, not ideal because it was a little cramped. Who cares, the food was amazing! That is the clinker, either show up super early or super late. You can't win without a reservation.
BTW, our last visit there we met Mario Batali. He was outside, across the street sitting on the steps of a townhouse with some of his other chefs. He was so nice and friendly! I called him "Chef Batali" and he laughed and said to call him Mario. He asked what we had for dinner and sopke to my husband and I for a good 20 minutes. Took pics with him and everything! Nice guy!
Enjoy your meal!
