The oint being that you can have your music playing in the backround, or here your warning tones, etc. But not have to listen to all rubbish that is on certain sites, namely youtube etc who's videos play instantly.

Wouldn't that be kinda like having a volume control for each channel on the TV?

Most plug Ins have volume control.
