I am only 18 and I just started seeing a neurologist. He only gives me prevention medication. The first thing he gave was working, but it made me really nauseous, gave me anxiety and made my body feel weird.I stopped taking that and now I am on Pamalor. I still get headaches, just not everyday. Right now I am on my period and I have had a headache the past 7 days. It goes away when I sleep and then 5 minutes after I woke up I already have one.I usually take Motrin but that does not work that good anymore,I was up to taking 3 sometimes twice a day.Tylenol and Excedrin dont work. I just started taking Aleve and it works okay but the headaches still come back.I have been to get a CAT scan and an MRI and everything is fine, as well as my blood work. I get my eyes checked every year. When they are really bad, I will try to massage my temples and neck and I will put a cold water bottle on my head, which helps temporarily but it still comes back. I just am tired of not feeling good everyday.

Plain head aches, migraines, tension headaches, sometimes feels like some other kind of headache.I know I have stress and different emotions going on with my body. When I was taking this supplement called fish oil I wasn't getting no headaches. All the stress, depression, high blood pressure u name it.It went away, until I stop taking the fish oil.It came back.I was put on Pamalor as well 10 mg at night because I cant sleep. But it gave me chest pain the first time I took it so the doc told me to stop. Try some fish oil. I'm telling u,u will feel like a brand new person.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

If this has been happening for so long I would really recommend you to see a doctor. This could be something minor but better to be safe then sorry. And when you are there the doctor may give you some medicine to help relieve your headaches.

well. sounds like you're trying, and so is your doc. You mentioned he only gave you prevention medicine"""""""""that's what you want""""""""""""to prevent it!!!!!!! If you don't get them in the first place, that's the goal, right? Did he look into the possibility that they were allergy related? Sometimes antihistamines help that, like benadryl or the like. Sorry, don't know what Pamalor is. Have you tried keeping a food diary? Sometimes its food related? It's not uncommon to get them around yourperiod. Hormone related migaines are treated differently than others. Living with migraines is a drag, maybe try some homeopathy methods, like go to a health food store and ask for help. Make sure it doesn't interfere with what you're taking though. My daughter gets them, I find if I can give her a gram of Tylenol and 600mg of Ibuprofen at the same time, and she goes and rests, drinks lots of liquids, it usually gets rid of them. The sooner you medicate yourself after you get them, the better chance of getting rid of them. You don't want to get in the rhythm of going to ER for treatment. That'll set up life long problems. My friend had them, and had oxygen at home, she had 'cluster headaches.' Ilm sure the neurologist wouldve told you if he thought that was your type though. Have you ever tried Imitrex? That helps my friend. compazine can help people too, even though it's for nausea, sometimes it helps headaches, usually given IM or IV though. They do make pills and supp, but usually not as good. Hope you get to the bottom of it. Feel sorry for you.

sounds like migraines to me i get them all the time. if one gets through the meds then i usually take another pill and get a heating pad and put it under the back of my neck on low and it takes about 15 minutes and then i can function again. talk to your dr about max-alt or imitrex and see if they dont help out quite a bit. the max-alt knocks mine out for about 6 to 8 hours
