Hi! This summer I would really like to freshen up my room with some new colours and furniture, My room is extreamly small im talking like 70 inches wide but it is like 10ft long. Anyway at the moment it is lilac and I am very girly, girly. Do you know of any websites that could help me choose what colours i will paint my room? Thank you for your time.

The best websites to go to would be the Home and Garden website and Better Homes and Gardens website. For your paint color you might want to try just browsing some of the major paint brand websites like Behr and Sherwin-Williams. Make sure that when you paint your walls you have the room well lit so that you can really see what the color is going to look like in the space. Being an interior designer, though, I can tell you a few ways to make you room feel and look larger. First and foremost clear out the clutter! If there is stuff strewn everywhere in your room or maybe just a lot of unnecessary stuff, then clear it out. Also, light, cool colors such as cream, light greens, and light blues, make rooms feel larger and more airy. Another way to make a room feel larger is to not place your curtain rod directly at the top of your windows. Also you may want think about installing some track lighting or just getting rid of any heavy curtains and draperies that block out the sun. Inside lighting and/or natural lighting make rooms appear larger as well. When choosing furniture (especially furniture that has fabric on it or is apolstered), don't stray too far from the color you choose as your wall your color. Contrasting colors tend to break up a room and make it feel more confined while furniture with colors similar to that of the wall color tend to blend in and not break the room up into sections.

I know the other's also told you better homes and gardens but you need to sign up for it ( it is free) so go to www.bhg.com and sign up and then scroll down to the Decorating Gallery and look for ArrangeARoom and ColorARoom and these sites will let you make a room whatever size you want and then it has little boxes at the top that u click on and a drop down box will appear and you can pick windows and place them where they are in the actual room etc.. and then furniture and accessories too. And coloraroom allows you to "try" on p[aint in different styles of rooms to see if you will like it before you buy it!

Try HGTV.com or maybe even Sherwin-Williams.com. These websites have lots of ideas. In my experience, I have always tried to use neutrals and accent with the colors I love. I like to change lots, so this is the best way to spend less money. Good luck.

you can try lowe's.com. They have a virtual painter that lets you paint sample rooms hundreds of colors. You can see what would look best & what you'd like best before buying paint. It's alot easier than trying to pick out paint chips.

Is your bedroom in a hallway? Do you sleep on the floor? Unless your measurements are incorrect, I am very sorry for you. Go to betterhomesandgardens.com for great decorating ideas...
