Not you alone. It can only be changed by all the people in the world working together.

As an individual, you can make a very small difference. Global warming is caused by the green house effect (mostly CO2 emissions). So try to pollute less. Try to use less energy. Try to switch to alternative energy. Try to recycle more. Try a plant-a-tree program. Or buy a small piece of land somewhere and plant a garden or a few trees, at least you'll have a nice place to spend weekends and have picnics. Try to understand that each can make a small difference, and then try to teach others to do the same.
Try to do all that, even if there is a chance that ecologists are wrong and there's no global warming at all (many people and of course the big companies say so). But what if the ecologists are right ? Won't you feel good to know you did the right thing ?

It never has ceased to amaze me the ignorance on global warming. Everyone around thinks it got something to do with pollution of the atmosphere. NONSENSE it has to do with a proven 1500 year cycle of the earth warming up, then reverting back to cool again.

Global warming is NOT a bad thing. Crops will grow further north, History has shown us in the previous 1500 year warm up cycles that the population was well fed during global warm period, that primarly due to improved conditions for growing crops.

Why have so many people bought into the media's version?

The media is always looing for a good ''scare headline" and the survival of the Green's depends of scare tactics. Please, dont buy into the nonsense that global warming is bad, for in the historic past it has been a good thing.

I noticed a really large SUV the other day. It has :
"environmental" license plates on it. People arent serious about saving the continent, just nonsense.

not by yourself it takes everybody
but you can can have a positive attitude
and here are some pointers

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use
