Strangely enough, in our British culture, all killing is wrong. And as for honour killings, oh pur lease. It's one sadistic brutal culture which thinks its OK to settle family quarrels using murder.

If he hates Islam so much maybe the asker is a Christian. If so he is not a good one remember "turn the other cheek".

Okay, first off, I think it's great that you are following your heart into a religion you personally find beautiful. Do a lot of research on it, from the sources that make it a good thing and the sources that tell of its flaws to decide if it is really for you. Also, look at objective sources. Why is it that you bf is telling you what you can and cannot do (i.e. can't have alcohol at the house for guests ((are not you a member of this household)))? Edit: On a real level, I agree with Gordon ((nice answer, hun)), but you said you have come to the conclusion that you think it is a beautiful religion so that must mean you know quite a deal already and your intuitions just match Islam better, am I correct? If not, then go secular. Also, Rac had a very good answer as well. I'm not trying to be anti-religion, but the truth on dogmatic religions or religions who think they have the truth of something unknowable burns sometimes... but must be told. Unfortunately, until the murder happens it is not possible to preempt. However no doubt a move to bring back the death penalty for these monsters might have the desired effect. It is either that or life being life and in the case of new immigrants the rest of the family being sent back to the country of origin. What a strange idea "honor killing". I don't think that killing someone improves the "honor" of anyone. It surely doesn't improve the murdered person... anyway, as long as they kill one another they can carry on as far as I am concerned - after all when they're finished with the killing of their own family members perhaps their genes will disappear?
