I am making dinner for a few of my friends and my 8 year old. I am not sure what to make. It's going to be very laid back, just good friends, good food and a glass of wine!
Does anyone have any ideas on what to serve?

Traditional is good. I was also thinking about a Guinness stew... any recipes on that one?

Everyone is going to say cornedbeef and cabbage, but there are other good old fashioned items like Mulligan Stew, Irish
potatoes, for a side dish, with baked in the oven ribs,or cherry
corned beef. You take a bisket of corned beef and cook it on the grill as directed on the package, but a half hour before it's
finished pour the juice of a large bottle of cocktail cherries over it. Make your favorite potatoe salad but add a drop or two of green food coloring for a festive touch, add a large mug guiness,or your favorite beer(turned green with food coloring of course)or lime kool-aide,or juice whatever.
I'am too lazy to bake cookies from scratch so I either get some shamrock cookies from the supermarket or buy the cookie's that come rolled ready to slice and bake.
For the stew just download a recipe or make your own and
call it Mulligans(smile) Don't forget your "green" Jello fruit
mold and lime sherbet if you want MORE GREEN!!
People do say I can get carried away, but it's just some suggestions and you don't have to use all of them or combine
some and leave out others. Top of the morning to ya!!

The correct food for St Patricks Day is of course Irish Stew. It should be accompanied by a glass of Guiness and a video of Michael Flatley with his fellow dancers. Best of Luck to you for a successful evening.

any kind of thick meat, like steak or brisket. Make some potatoes, and season them well. Make sure to have some type of salad. For dessert, try some kind of cookies. NO PASTA!
Good Luck and Happy St. Patricks Day!

corned beef and cabbage!
If you get a corned beef you can throw it in your crock-pot 6 hours or so before serving. Season w/ garlic, salt and pepper. About 45 min's before serving throw cabbage in there. Don't forget potato's and carrots!
serve w/ salad and bread.
I know its traditional but, that's the part I love about St. Patrick's day!!!
Have fun!
