I have those cheap kitchen cupboards that are flat, no design. I put stainless steele handles on them a few years back and painted them blue, a bright blue. Now I'm ready for a change, but to what? My tile is white with gray/black grout. And my walls are white but can be painted too. Any suggestions PLEASE?

You should try to keep your kitchen bright and sunny if possible. If there is lots of natural light a nice shade of beige, light orange or yellow, or, because I guess you may like blue, blue! Try to keep the cupboards a different color, but not so much different that they stand out too much. Stay focused on what you what your guests to see when they first enter the room. Decorate as you will!

I have your cupboards too. With the fake wood look. I just painted my kitchen daffodil yellow & the cabinets bright white. Amazing difference. The kitchen looks much larger & brighter. I just used a good semi-gloss over primer. When I get the money, I'm going to replace the top cabinet doors with frosted glass fronts. If you can find cheap doors with the wide trim around them, you can cut out the inside & replace it with glass. This always looks nice & increases value too.

Paint them a bright yellow color and your walls a light yellow. That will brighten up the kitchen and make it feel like a sunny day even when it rains.

if you just want to paint why dont you try two different shades of a color to give them demension. if you want a change and you are good with your hands then i would say to take the fronts down and burn a design into them then paint with a little more detail. i just did it a few years ago and it is fun and pretty

Try Routering the edges and a border about an inch and a half inwards from the edges. This will give it a "less flat look".

Paint them white.

Doesn't the white on the cabinets go with the trim on the brown? Do they need painting? If you think tan would look good on them, go ahead and do it.
