I respectfully disagree with Mr. Santana D. I agree that Barrera has been in many wars, but I don't think that he's done. Although, he lost spark in the ring and is most probably unable to slug it out, he can still, nevertheless, box his opponent. I think Barrera will play it safe in this bout, which may prove to be average. Barrera has the edge in defense, stamina, and chin. Marquez has the slight edge in power. I think they will be equal in stamina.
In the early rounds, I can see both men feeling each other out. I think it will be close. In the middle rounds, I think Marquez will start to be the aggressor. Barrera will counter Marquez and circle on him throwing jabs. I think Barrera will take most of the middle rounds. In the later rounds, I think Marquez will try going for the knockout, but I think Barrera will be smart enough not to engage him. Ultimately, I think Barrera will take the bout via a unanimous decision.

Brotha, dont make excuses for Barrera losing against Manny. He lost because he fought a younger, faster, stronger man. Period. Accept it. Marquez fell 3 times in Round 1 and proceeded to get up and whip Manny's *** for the rest of the fight and got a draw for his troubles. Barrera is no legend. He is popular yes, but he is no Julio Cesar Chavez or Salvador Sanchez or even Ruben Olivares. Where did this legend talk come from? I'm Mexican and have watched these guys since the beginning of their careers. Barrera is a very good fighter (Junior Jones, Morales, and Pacquiao proved he isn't GREAT) and he is good for boxing. However, Marquez is also a very good fighter and has been champion on numerous occasions (forget the decisions against Pac-Man and Chris John, he beat them both off the record). This fight will be close because you have two talented fighters and there is pride on the line, not to mention them both being natives of the capital city. It will be good. Enjoy it while it lasts. I am picking Marquez by late rounds referee stoppage. He is peaking.

JMM wins every round except maybe the first, and ends the fight by TKO near round 9.
Then JMM can get his rematch with Pacquiao, and Oscar De La Hoya and Juan Manuel Marquez can get some revenge. Dont forget, after the 3 knockdowns JMM suffered in round 1 vs Pacquiao, he pretty much dominated the fight and made it a draw

i've got faith that Barrera gained and besides the fact that if Marquez legitamately edged a victory it replace into no longer with the help of the margin shown on the score enjoying cards. The seventh around replace right into a foul call too. i think of that Barrera saying his quickly to be retirement till now he fought prompted the judges a splash as they have been hoping for a %guy / Marquez combat. in any case Im happy Barrera is ultimately getting his rematch with Pacman he merits it.

i think ur right but but Barrera is the smarter boxer n quiker fighter he fought a no hitter with rocky juarez it was kinda boring but barrera was perfect im talkn about that 2nd fight, marqz did awsome with manny but also when barrera fought manny barrera had brain surgery n didt train properly i dont think he was ready for manny i mean he didnt have time to recoperate from surgery n train n get into fight mode so u cant really compare the results on how barrera did agasnt ,manny n how marqz did against manny id think Barrera is gonna win just cuz i think he is a mastermind fighter in the ring.they both have great chins they both have good stamina power goes to Marqz but i also think he is slower but stronger slow means Defense is less thens Barreras

I believe it will be Juan Manuel Marquez he is the more hungry fighter. they can both box but I just don't see the fire in Barrera's eyes any more.
