Recently, I was fitted with soft, toric contact lenses for astigmatism. The brand was Vertex Toric, and they are very comfortable to wear compared to when I wore gas permeable lenses. However, I have discovered that they consistently go out of focus and blur up.

This is my only complaint. They aren't hurting me and they aren't even uncomfortable; they are just irritating at times because they won't stay in focus. I wondered if there was any particular reason this is happening that anyone might know of? They are brand new, so is it possible they could clear up in the next week or so?

Thank you for any help.

It can sometimes take several days for a thick lens (for astigmatism or bifocals) to stabilize. When you blink, they swing in your eye (they're supposed to do that to encourage tear flow) and can shift out of focus but should slowly come back to position. Don't avoid blinking because then you will dry them out. Give them at least 2 weeks before returning to your contact lens fitter for re-evaluation.

Return them. ASAP They might have made a mistake and switched your prescription or measurements with another. It is not supposed to happen but it could have happened.
Tell them you are very unhappy with it.
Do try to "live " with something that will impact on the health and welfare of your vision.
