just yesterday i overslept but this is normal before the week of my period....and I just happen to be in the week before it comes...I don't know, but it just felt odd...is it a lack of iron causing me to not want to wake up....or too much sugar? because I know I've been craving tons of sugar and I usually do around this time. Any suggestions on what I should do? Iron pills...more salty foods? etc?

If you are on a low carb diet then this could explain it. The brain needs carbs to function properly. This is why hypoglycemia is so dangerous.

Deficiency in a vital nutrient such as this is a form of starvation and will result in lack of energy along with cravings for the most concentrated sources of the nutrient in which you are deficient.

If you are not on a low carb diet, then please disregard what I just wrote and consult a doctor immediately.

Just in case, here is a link to some info about low carb diets.
