This is not gambling. In the Old Testament, lots were used as a way of determining God's will for a given situation. If you look over the entire OT, you will find (1) these are the situations where it's used - think of Jonah - and (2) not all Israelites had the benefit of the Spirit of God. Only Kings and Prophets were given this Spirit, which is why David says in Psalm 51, "Do not take your holy spirit from me."

On the other hand, in the NT, the last time lots are mentioned is when the apostles chose the successor to Judas in Acts 1. However, this was before the Holy Spirit was given to all believers in Acts 2. Now, we are to be guided by the Holy Spirit, as amply described by Paul in his various letters, and indeed later in the book of Acts.

In any case, it was never gambling, it was an alternative way of determining God's will. Please feel free to contact me personally if you wish to talk more about this or any other subject.

No, it replaced into God's unique motive that this methodology be used for determining His Will. as an occasion, see Leviticus sixteen:8, Joshua 18:6, 1 samuel 14:forty-one, Proverbs sixteen:33 and 1 chronicles 24-26. by Jesus' time, the casting of plenty had developed into playing. even in spite of the shown fact that, there are 2 New testomony examples of the righteous casting of plenty: Luke one million:9 and Acts one million:26.

To love another is a gamble. You invest heart and attention into another person and yet not sure if the love will be returned. But if you don't risk enough in that gamble, it will not pay off anyway.

To devote yourself to righteousness and the Kingdom of God is a gamble. If the entry requirements for Heaven are different than we expect and we just play it safely, we may find out we've gambled and lost.

That is why I encourage believers to challenge their faith and don't just follow a dogma because a priest believes it ... each person has to come to that belief himself/herself.
Study, talk with others, prayer. personal experiences while serving others ... it all goes to help make sure this bet will get you into Heaven.

God Bless you, and thanx for a gr8 question
