Religion Which Requires Persecution To Sustain, It Is Of The Devil's Propagation.

As far as religion goes, I think every religion is persecuted in certain ways. Muslims are constantly being called terrorists, and Christians are constantly being attacked about all kinds of stuff. Not to mention there are so many jokes and stereotypes about Jews. Here in the west, religions like Buddhism, Taoism, and Hinduism are thought of as weird, abstract thoughts. Many westerners don't even consider these as religions. Every religion is persecuted in some way, and most religions persecute other religions. Why can't we all just get along?? :)

It doesn't involve lions or a webpage, but I did just pay a forty cent tax on cigarettes, which I'm pretty much not allowed to smoke anywhere in public. So sure, I'm being persecuted.

The thing is, cigarettes are harmful, and cause problems for society. So, they're taxed and looked down upon, much like organized religion should be.

I just was! EarlD persecuted me! ~~*sobs*~~

I mean, lions are one thing but A-BOMBS from those loony scientists is quite another!

Heh, heh. Now I have a new favorite answer to prove the passages in the Bible. The old "because God said so" routine was getting tiresome.

Bad, Science, bad!

I am persecuted everyday. I am a white Anglo Saxon English speaking protestant male and a single father.

Because of these traits I am either labelled a bigot, sexist, a kidnapping pedophile or a Fathers Rights activist.

Our government (Canadian) has a off ice that is called the Status of Women. They help fund women's rights. I believe in equality for all. Why is there no agency for men? We have the same problems as the women do (believe it or not), especially single fathers. There is not one agency in Canada to help men with domestic violence. Yes men are victims of this as well. Only one province (Alberta) recognizes men as victims of domestic violence but there are no agencies to help them.

When I register my son for school I have to prove that I am the custodial parent. My single mother friends do not. And their children have a different last name than them!

Sorry I am a little off topic.

As a Pagan and a Native American my people have been subject to Christian persecution for centuries. There has been no let up in their attempts to abolish our religions and cultures in recent times, nor is one likely in the foreseeable future. The only difference is that the law no longer allows them to use force to convert us, which is progress.

Christians claim they are. They also claim that this "persecution" is what the Bible tells them they will go through. It isn't.

The leaders of the Christian Coalition are not being hung on crosses (Philippians 2:8). The leaders of the Family Research Council are not being stoned to death (Acts 7:59). The leaders of Focus on the Family are not being thrown to the lions (Daniel 6:16).

All they have to worry about is someone calling them bad names and denying them their request for favoritism.

What? Christians aren't persecuted in America. We may experience hostility, but we have He who is greater than he who is in the world on our side.

Christians in other parts of the world DO experience persecution, and it's to our shame that we don't know and do more for them (look at Sudan).
