I wud also say, sum do, sum don't. It depends on it's type.

If u r really willing to get the birthmark removed, then consult a professional skin specialist.

I think that only a few fade. It's bcoz, the birthmark is caused when our soft and sensitive is damaged or something happens to a part during our gestation period. These marks r mostly permanent.

I wud again say, if u r willing to get it removed or faded, then there r processes through which it can b removed.

Mine never did. I have one in the shape of Africa on my leg, it's not changed since I was a kid (and I'm pretty old now). So, no, chances are a birthmark will not fade on it's own.

i think yes as nothing lives forever
so, how can birthmarks? they fade..

but basically it depends on what type of mark it is
and i have heard that burns don't get off easily

Some do and some don't. Many do but if you want it to go away faster, sometimes if you use scar cream on it goes away, (fades)

nope they can get darker though/ unless you put sunscreen on
