I have a drug test in a week, but I need to find out how much water I need to drink to get it out of my system.

I drank six 12 oz. cans and four 24 oz. cans.

They test for alcohol now?

And it's doesn't quite work like that--you can't just drink water and hope it comes out.

I do NOT believe drug tests test for alcohol.

here is some scientific data:

After alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream it leaves the body in two ways. A total of about ten percent leaves through the breath, perspiration, and urine. The remainder is broken down through the process known as metabolism.

The rate at which alcohol is metabolized is the same for virtually everyone regardless of their height, weight, sex, race or other such characteristics.

Alcohol is metabolized at the rate of .015 of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) every hour. 1 Thus a person with a very high BAC of .15 will have no measurable alcohol in the bloodstream after ten hours (.15 divided by .015 = 10). Here are some other examples:

Alcahold does not stay in your body for weeks or months like some previous people suggested. We do not know your BAC level but even if it was 2x or 3x the .15 atmost your looking at 30 hours, and you have more than 30 hours before your drug test.

If you utilized other drugs, you can attempt to flush it out with water.

From personal expereince regarding MJ, i smoked, then had a drug test in about 4 days, i attempted to drink a gallong of water a day, i never got through the whole thing, but i passed the test. Also, make sure to drink as much as possible right b4 the test, however, harder drugs have a longer life and are most likely detectable.

If all you did was alacahold you have absolutley NOTHING to worry about.

I have drank 8 beers the night before a drug test and never failed one. Alcohol leaves your system in a short period of time. Thats why they only hold you for 4 hours if you are arrested for DUI. Drugs are another story. As stated, the hair test goes back months. Many companies use cheap tests and they only show usage within a week or so. Depending on the drug used, check the health food stores. They have some liquid that will purge Marijuana within 3 hours. About $20 a bottle.

Is it my understanding, that the nature of your profession warrants them to give you an immediate drug and alcohol test? If so, then check the contents of your toothpaste and mouthwash. And don't eat dinner out, because many chefs add alcohol to their entrees.

Seeing that you already know you will be tested for drugs, if you do not take illicit drugs, then I wouldn't worry. If you are taking prescription drugs make a list of them, so that you can have validation if proved positive.

But, if on the other hand you have taken illicit drugs, then what's the point of you taking the test? Move on! Because, eventually, you will test positive and there may even be legal woes for you to face.

Dont drink at least 3 days before your test and it cant show because once it evaporates from your system its gone. Drugs are a little diffrent. They take time.

If your drug test is a hair test, it will detect drug use for the past several months.

keep drinking water- you are going to want to pee as much as you can. I think shaving your hair is a good idea too if your worried about having drugs detected.

it all depends on how much and what you do. every drug has a different time and you should be alright with alcohol in 8-12 hours depending on how much you drink
