A Catholic country with realistic views is to be admired, yes?

Americans don't realize that much of the rest of the world is moving beyond the literalist view of the bible and into the 21st century.

Fundamentalist, religion based governments are the biggest problem today. Whether they are in Iran or Israel or America.

I'm not sure legalizing abortion is such a good idea. A high percentage of uneducated teenagers get pregnant every year, and putting abortion as a option for them would be a bad idea (people would use that option instead of contraceptives). Many people don't know this operation can be life threatening. Of course there have to be some exceptions (sexual abuse, mother's life is at risk, etc.), but those should be determined by the government.

I'm glad euthanasia is being legalized because no one has the right to live suffering. A few things should be considered before deciding, and in the case of voluntary euthanasia make sure the patient knows the other possible options and is aware of the consequence.

I'm totally in agreement of gay marriage, if two people are in love, why can't they be together? Mexico should be applauded for this, but society (which strongly discriminates homosexuality) will need more time to be convinced that this is normal.

I have different opinions and thoughts than other people, but all in all legalizing abortion, euthanasia, and gay marriage is an important step to allow further development in Mexico.

Yes. I'm sick of all these people saying abortion is horrible and evil. Yes, there are some women who abuse it but there are others who actually need it. I lost my virginity at 14. I was raped. If I had gotten pregnant I can gaurentee I would have gotten an abortion! I'm just so sick of people being against it. I would never beable to have a child that is the product of rape. That would destroy a child, I would never beable to put them through that.

Finally a country that got it right. A country that realizes that not all of its citizens are christian or catholic or religious and that to deny them choices and to allow people not to be bound by others religious zealousness. Finally a place where the right to decide is celebrated and embraced rather than a country that seeks to deny freedom of choice yet claims to be the leader of the "free world". Congrats to Mexico for taking a step in the right direction.

For those who oppose abortion-who are you to decide what happens in my uterus.

For those who oppose gay marriage-who are you to decide the happiness of others? You are not god to decide the fate or lives of others.

For those who oppose euthanasia- who are you to decide when someone else's suffering is enough? Who know not the agony of another so dont dismiss their pain as bearable.

Not at all! If a Catholic country is legalizing these, then I don't think they have a clue of what Bible is all about. Bible says these are sins and Mexico City doesn't deserve any praises for legalizing them.

Yes on abortion and gay marriage and euthanasia but do you have proof?????? Yes you're right. You still don't have proof that they're doing that. I would otherwise totally agree.

Yes. Forcing a woman to go through an unwanted pregnancy is wrong, forcing someone in horrible, uncurable pain to live is wrong, and not allowing two people who love eachother to marry is wrong
