As long as they are in an area that I am familiar with.

No, not even in my own area! I don't drive, I either walk or ride my bicycle... and the whole town is *full* of one-way streets, which I'm allowed to use in either direction (I don't know about other countries but here it only applies to motor vehicles, bicycles can go either way). So I'm always standing there saying things like 'then you turn left.. oh wait, I don't think you can, so take the next one and then go... oh wait, that's a bicycle path... eh, go straight and turn at the light and then.. oh wait, you can't go there either.' They intended to make it so hard for cars to get anywhere, part of cutting down on through traffic and making more people use public transport for environmental reasons. If you ask me, it sure worked!

Btw, I'm not too good when you're riding a bicycle either, I got good sense of direction myself but I often don't really recall if it's the fourth or the fifth street, the second or the third lights... probably *because* I have a good sense of direction, when I've been some place even once I don't have to consciously count all the sidestreets or traffic signals all the time, I just go where I needa go without paying close attention to details and (as long as I'm not in a car!) it always works.

Usually not. I have a very good sense of direction but I can't give directions! One, I rarely know the name of the streets that I am on, I just know them. Also, I always say left when I mean right and vise versa, don't tell me to make an "L" with my fingers either, I'm dyslexic and they both look right!

I usually just use yahoo maps and they give nice turn by turn directions. That's the best way :-)

As long as I know the area. If I don't know it very well then I apologize and tell them. I think it's cruel to give people the wrong directions but my sister does it all the time for a laugh.

I can give good directions. But it all depends on where I am and where the other person is and is going.

If I know the direction they're going I have no problem to help.

Sure can.
Left is always the same turn.
Right is always the same turn.
Up and down are self-explanatory.
In order to get there from here you have to know where you are at and when you begin you have to start in order to get there.
Where you end up is your decision.

Does that help?

Yes, oh, I bicycle during the summer months and people ALWAYS stop me and ask. Even when I'm walking my dog people still stop.
