You might try shipping by bus. Greyhound and Trailways both have a shipping service. The person you're sending it to would have to pick it up at the bus station, but it's a very cheap alternative to UPS or FedEx.

BTW, I'm not recommending any service, but just naming a few that I've used.

You could pack your stuff in strong cardboard boxes and send them across country on a bus. (Greyhound or Trailways etc. ) Don't laugh. I have done this and the cost was much cheaper than UPS. Regards. cruisebloke
