Interesting article. When ICE raided the Swift plant in Greeley, Colorado, The Catholic Charities and the United Way were assisting the families who were affected by the raid...in other words, the families of those who were illegal immigrants and those who had forged documents. I thought it was interesting that while my son, who is Catholic and disabled, couldn't get help from either organization, they would help a bunch of criminals. Catholic charities seems to have some disparities on a number of levels.

Sort of sick when the church is helping people to break the law by aiding illegals isn't it?
I hadn't hard of this particular case, but it doesn't shock me that the Catholic church is busy trying to help illegals around the law. They have been very vocal about it.
I have wondered with all their moves into politics how they have not lost their tax exempt status.
If I were Catholic - I would be on my priest's all the time pressing for them to get out of the business of helping known criminals break the law.
From the article, seems that those that help such have leanings towards breaking the law as well.. Guess that goes to show that 'birds of a feather stick together' - even in criminal acts.

Catholic Charities officials discovered that the funds were missing after Anchondo left, Osman said. His office typically received cash for services, though it also dealt with money orders and checks.
Services, including helping immigrants with documentation and legal case management, were provided. But $62,885 collected between 2002 and 2005 was not deposited in the Catholic Charities accounts, she said.
Officials did not say why an arrest warrant for Anchondo was not issued sooner
All churches need to stay out of the affairs of the government. I believe strongly in the separation of church and state. The churches are breaking the federal law against aiding, abetting, sheltering and encouraging illegal aliens to come to the USA and to stay here. They are NOT exempt from the law.Nor should they be.
If the church "helps" an illegal alien and that illegal alien commits a crime like rape or murder, why then isn't the church responsible for that crime? Why couldn't they be sued because they facilitated that crime? Like gun manufactures or bars that get sued ? Just random thoughts running thru my mind .

Wow...thank you for the article! What goes around comes around...this is what happens when you trust criminals.
I think that congress needs to figure out where the church's stand and then tax them accordingly. If they want to affect politics then they can PAY for that right!

i pushed away from christianity since it always contradicts itself. it's seems to be a bunch of grown men running around saying one thing is right and everything else is wrong and we'll all burn for it then turns around and says it's just fine and dandy to do.
just about everything is corrupt nowadays, we can't escape from it and it's foolish to think churches will stay saintly through it. if "God" didn't want us to masturbate he would have given us shorter arms. if your god didn't want people to love the same sex he (or she) would have made it so. and as for the church helping criminals it's what they are told to do, it's called sanctuary they have to shelter anyone who asks for it it's a law in their religion so quit getting all huffy because they are doing what they are told to do!

When a church starts protecting the criminals from the citizens, it is time to disown that church!
