I believe you did the right thing, even though it hurt at the time. The longer you let this relationship go on, the more she would have come to rely on you for affection and become more emotionally attached to you. It is admirable of you that you would morn the friendship if that, too, fails. But at least you were honest and did not lead her on. I hope she can value that attribute and retain the friendship. You definately did the right thing.

I do think you handled it "okay", possibly had you said something to this effect: I really enjoy your company and like doing things with you, you are a great friend and I would not want to jeopardize our friendship for the sake of a doomed relationship. Do pursue the friendship, don't be like most guys that say that and then avoid her. Give her a call on the phone once a week to say hi and see how she is doing. I would probably refrain from asking her to see a movie or going out for dinner for awhile.

You did the right thing, in my opinion. Honesty is always best. And if it was a true friendship, she will be ok when the initial shock wears off. Her ego is probably bruised. Good luck and God bless****

You definetely did the right thing. It'd hurt her much more if you led her on for a long time. It's better to handle it now and then try and maintain the friendship

Yes you were wrong, you should have been truthful with her right up front. Instead of waiting a couple of months, you should have made your feelings clear to her in the begining, and then maybe she could have decided if she wanted to be yoour friend or not..TYPICAL MAN.

You did the right thing and if you can remain friends, all the better. Personally, I think it always best to be honest rather than allow someone to have false hope.

you did the right thing. sometimes you can't have both. you or the other in the relationship wants more...so your friendship ends because one of you gets hurt. find a new friend and keep it just friends. that is just life....get use to it.

OK WELL IT MIGHT HAVE MADE HER FEEL ALITLE UNCOMFORTABLE BUT IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO BECAUSE IF YOU LED HER ON AND THEN DID IT LATER SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CRUSHED. SO GOOD JOB DOING IT SOON. AS FOR THE FRIENDSHIP I THINK THAT IT WILL BE THE SAME. IT MIGHT BE ALITTLE AKWARD AT FIRST BUT THEN IT WILL BE FINE.
