ok i recently went to my dentist and he told me that i dont have much calculus and that i dont have periodontitits. really a great thing. but, my all my teeth are discolored. there all quite yellow and seem to be stained.

so i hope to have them whitened by him soon, but i'm scared as to how they'll look afterwards. will they just appear yellow and white in spots or will my teeth all be white? and i hope to care and maintain them so how long should the treatment last for.

i think yearly bleaching on your teeth would be a bad thing for your overall health of the teeth.. not sure about all this so please help me out. thank you.

before you spend a lot of money on whitening strips try this... Mix some peroxide and listorine, half in half... and brush your teeth with it.. It works really good for my teeth when they start to get stained..

If you use the strips too much they can make your teeth really sensitive..

You should first ask your dentist what is the cause of the yellow staining, because there are 2 types of stains:

1- Extrinsic stains: such as those caused by drinking coffee, tea and so. This type can easily be bleached with any bleaching system.

2- Intrinsic stains, and these are stains that you cant get rid of by simply bleaching because their cause is mainly a systemic cause, such cases are fluorosis, where your teeth appear pitty and mottled. In this case you'll have to go for veneers, where a very thin layer of your outer surface is removed by your dentist, and a whiter shade is applied giving you the hollywood smile :)

Well, some people have a natural yellow-ish tint based teeth. It's normal, my teeth are that spiffy shiny like all of those movie-stars. Have you used the one's that have baking soda? I'm sure you baking soda helps, but sometimes if it's your natural color, it may be hard to get it all shiny. I guess stick to the rules. Brush twice daily, floss when you can & just take care of your teeth. I'm sure there are some dentist that can help you or recommond something. Good luck!

I would recommend using CREST WHITENING STRIPS
Many people have found that they work and are less invasive than bleaching.
