yes or no. Don't say you don't and then give exceptions because then you do believe in it.

This is not a yes or no answer. There are times when it is needed and times when it is not, so it must be applied on a case-by-case basis.

Certainly I don't want to turn on a family show and hear over-the-top cursing or be watching the latest Harry Potter movie and he is as naked as a jaybird.

On the other hand, you want no limits on a show like "The Shield". It all depends on the context

I do not believe in censorship! It goes against the very principles that we were founded on. If people are so worried about what they read or see or hear, then heres an idea-dont listen to the offensive radio, dont open the offensive book, and get off your *** and turn the damn channel on the tv. Why should I not be able to express myself how I wish because someone will get offended? So what?! I dont live my life to make other people that I have never met happy. I think we need to stop all censorship and let parents go back to being parents and monitering what their kids see, hear, read, listen to. Censorship has taken the place of responsible parenting and the rest of us pay the price. Freedom of speech, press, self expression is no longer a freedom.

No I don't believe in censorship. But I do believe in putting rating on Games. Mothers need to know what games are best for their kids at what age. Otherwise NO. Unless you mean tv. I think certain movies are for adults only and certain cartoons are for kids only. I don't believe adults should be able to watch cartoons that are rated for kids only. Otherwise I don't believe in censorship. Unless you mean music. I think rap should only be listened to by monkeys who are too stupid to pick up a gun and act out the violence in the music. There should be a rating MO for Monkeys only. LET FREEDOM RING! NO CENSORSHIP!!!

I do not believe in censorship of any kind even if it is something I abhor.

For example, I hate NAMBLA with evey fiber of my being. But I would not protest the printing of their disgusting magazine/newsletter. My theory on this is, I'd rather have it legal to print so we can keep an eye on them instead of making it illegal and not monitored.

Child porn isn't an issue of censorship. It's illegal so it cannot be published. Censorship doesn't apply to things that are illegal in nature.

i don't think this question is so cut and dry. there have been many things censored do to religious outcry because it questions their beliefs. i don't agree with that, its just withholding knowledge and discouraging intellectual growth. on the other hand some things that aren't age approriate should be censored to children/young teens. so sorry, but i'm in the "don't say you don't and then give exceptions because then you do believe" section

Absolutely, yes. Some ideas are deadly, some ideas are deceptively deadly. We protect the weak from dangerous drugs, people, weapons, places; likewise ahould the strong protect the weak from harmful ideas.
