[공지의] ~의 known to all[everybody]; universally[widely, well] known.


공지 [空地]vacant ground[land]; a vacant lot; a vacancy; unoccupied land[ground]; an open space; [여지] space; room.

공지 has lots of meaning. It can mean common knowledge. For example, It is (a matter of) common knowledge that...
It can mean vacant (unoccupied) ground. Also a public office, an official position, and civil service. All these meaning depends on how you use 공지(gong-ji).

i agree with what everyone has mentioned.

this can take a lot of meaning since the first syllable ê³µ can mean "empty" , "public", "ball", etc.

the second syllable 지 can mean "paper" or has something to do with a "place" or "wisdom/knowledge", and sometimes it just doesn't have a particular meaning.

you will have to look at the context of the sentence in order to know the meaning of 공지. in this case, you might have to choose among "vacant lot" , "blank paper", or "common knowledge".
