ê³µì§ has lots of meaning. It can mean common knowledge. For example, It is (a matter of) common knowledge that...
It can mean vacant (unoccupied) ground. Also a public office, an official position, and civil service. All these meaning depends on how you use ê³µì§(gong-ji).

i agree with what everyone has mentioned.
this can take a lot of meaning since the first syllable ê³µ can mean "empty" , "public", "ball", etc.
the second syllable ì§ can mean "paper" or has something to do with a "place" or "wisdom/knowledge", and sometimes it just doesn't have a particular meaning.
you will have to look at the context of the sentence in order to know the meaning of ê³µì§. in this case, you might have to choose among "vacant lot" , "blank paper", or "common knowledge".
