Only a moron TV tech would even attempt to diagnose this problem on the Internet with so little information. What brand? How old? What model? Any other symptoms? Any previous work?

I would love to help, but I'm a technician, not a magician.

The LCD TVs have a exhaust fan to get rid of the heat that builds up from the lamp that gives you the picture. The manual with mine said to clean that grill where the warm air comes each week & more often if your room gets dusty fast, like if you have forced air heat. It also said not to have the TV any less than 6-7 inches away from the wall behind it. Your TV could be going out until it cools down, then off when it's hot to protect it from damage. I'm just trying to think why that would be happening, & that's all I can think of. Hope I helped. If not, good luck.

Does it power down completely or do you just lose the picture?
One thing you can try is hit it on the side of the cabinet & see if you can make it go out by itself or make it come back on. If that's the case then you have a bad solder connection in the power supply or the horizontal output circuit. If you only lose the picture & keep the sound then you have a bad connection in the vertical circuit..
Good luck.

Possibly shutting down from dust clogging the cooling vents or fan faiure . May also be power supply connections for the lamp, or the lamp itself. Sometimes a bad lamp will cause shutdown. I've seen this in a few cases. Check the obvious first.$$$. Good luck!

It sounds like the power supply is overheating. 1st see how dusty the inside of the unit is. If it's a mess, blow out the dust.

Else you may have to replace the supply.
