Be thankful tha he still wants to be friends. I really wish my ex and I could be friends, but he refuses to even talk to me!!!
I think this means that he still has feelings for you. Don't ask him, because it may confuse him a little. Just hang out with him, talk with him, and enjoy your time together before (and IF) he turns into a guy like my ex.
My ex was still hanging out with me for a couple of days after we broke up, but then, he just blocked me out of his life.
So it is actually possible for your guy to do this.
Just be careful, thats all I'm gonna say. Good luck! (:

There are alot of reasons that he could be acting like this. I'm tempted to tell you what I feel from reading what you wrote, but I don't want to steer you wrong. Fact is, nobody, not one single person, here, or anywhere, can tell you why he is being like this. Only he can. I can tell you what I think you should do though. I think you should ask him. Tell him the things you've noticed, the things that have bothered you, and that you are confused. Tell him you need to know why he is acting this way. If he's a good man, a caring man, he'll try to be honest and open with you. Granted, even for well meaning people, opening up on matters of relationships can often be difficult, but, if he really cares, he should at least make an effort. These recent events, such as the phone calls and rescheduled get-togethers, could be nothing more than life getting in the way. Only he can tell you for sure. However, if he doesn't, or won't, I'd have to recommend moving on.

Good luck.

Sounds like he doesn't know what he wants! 2 years is a long time and maybe he is trying to figure out what he wants from the relationship. I would give him a little bit of space so that he doesn't feel like you are smothering him and hopefully when he figures it out he will get back with you!

He's playing with you. He knows you still want him and he likes the feeling of importance that gives him. It's an ego thing and your feeding his. When he treats you like crap and you keep calling him his head swells. Take away his power and don't be his chump, stop calling him and ignore him. If you start dating someone else he'll be crushed inside. Move on.

Don't hang out with him. He's been playing you. He has more or less told you he needed a 'break' which is a break from you & that you were just friends.

I think he still likes you but he's unsure of himself. Guys sometimes worry that they are getting to close. Give him time and i think he will come to his senses
