Oh hel* to the no!

I just saw my upper arms JIGGLE -- I looked in the mirror and it's actually UPPER ARM FLAB! I am a size 4 who has not exercised much this year. I heard that upper arm flab doesn't go away. Say it ain't so!!

How do I get rid of it in time for short sleeves? Please advise!!

One thing that it depends on is your age, and another is the amount of weight that you may have lost recently.

If you are relatively young, you can certainly "tone" them up by using dumbbells and exercising, and by adding cardio exercise several times a week. Even though you are a slight size 4, you still need exercise!

You won't "bulk up" and be all muscular -- that is a myth -- women just don't beef up like men do. But you will become very lean and toned if you exercise.

If you have lost weight recently, it will cause "flabby" parts of your body to appear. When fat cells shrink, the excess skin doesn't adjust as quickly as they shrink, especially if the cells shrink quickly. And if you are older, say, over 30-35, the skin has lost a lot of elasticity, so it will adjust even more slowly.

As one answerer suggested, they do have plastic surgery to tighten the skin under the arms, but it is not indicated in a person that is only a size 4 and has only a little "flab" --- it is more recommended for the very obese who have undergone gastric bypass or other bariatric surgeries and have lost 100+ pounds, and have pounds of excess skin to remove.

My advice to you and the other young lady who is 11 is to exercise daily, and to do some spot toning with the dumbbells (perhaps 2-3 pounds) every other day. This will increase your muscle tone overall, and you will become very "buff" and beautiful (even though you probably already are!)

I'm sure the right kind of exercise will help you get rid of it. But you won't get like lean arms, you'll get musculine arms. Anyhow, since you're only a size 4, Im sure the flab isn't really that FLABBY. You probably noticed it or just got it the first time. Don't worry. You're pretty as you are, and your soul mate will agree.

Quit fretting.

How old are you? perhaps it is genetic.....look at your mom and see if she had "old folks" arm. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as "arm tucks"????
