ignorance.... and Mexicans are not Spanish but hispanic. Spanish would be from Spain. Not every hispanic person is from Mexico. I hate when people get that all confused.

Um, Its not true, because it came originally from Spain, thay were the 1st ones to introduce Spanish, maybe Americans think this because there are many mexicans in The Americas. Im Puertorican, I studied everything, believe me, you dont even wanna know

As an American I have never, ever, ever heard this. Every single person I have ever known says spanish language started in Spain if the topic comes up.

Because those many americans are ignorant, and do not bother to learn about other cultures, and for the most part take there own culture for granted.
