This is the thing. You are too busy telling yourself that there isn't a God to actually see that there is. I know there is a God so no I'm not lying to myself.

I don't think that when you say something you don't know is really counted as lying if you're not doing it on purpose. If you are purposely telling someone something you don't know but pretending to know then it is. That would be making it up and if you didn't acctually know but thought what you were saying was correct then I personally don't think it can be called lying it's just a mistake.

Indeed it is|

Saying anything to someone, when in fact you know the contrary, is *always* lying|

However, it is not lying if you say something that you believe to be true and it turns out to be the opposite|

Or if you say that you are going to do something, and then circumstances turn up that prevent you from doing so - it is not lying because your intent was not to deceive when you made the declaration|

Most of our knowledge is passed on from other people.
With out this means, would you know that there is a Pairs France? Or that there is a place called Antarctica? Do you know that there is a material called Uranium? Do you know that there is a spirit called the Holly Ghost?

Lying is when we say something that we know is wrong.

Not necessarily. I can say that somewhere in the world there is a million pounds. I have never seen a million pounds but this does not mean it does not exist. There is reasoning and faith that make lying a redundant concept in these kinds of issues. So in short, no!

No, and here's why.

Newton asserted that in the equation F = ma (force is equal to mass times acceleration) that mass is constant. In other words,

F = d(mv)/dt
F = vdm/dt + m(dv/dt) and because m is a constant the derivative is 0 and his equation follows.

Subsequently to that the whole of physics assert that Newton was correct, and many apparently insoluable problems fell to his assertion.

However, Newton was wrong. He asserted a falsehood. Mass is not constant, there is no preferential frame of reference, light is neither a particle or a wave.

So, Newton asserted what is in fact false. Was he lying? Nope.

No, thats just postulating-lying has the implication of ill-intent. For example, innocently passing on misinformation although incorrect, isn't a lie-it lacks the unseemly motives we've come to associate with lying on purpose.

Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.

But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.

If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.

The Good Person Test.

How will you do? Pass or fail?

Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?

Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?

Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?

Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?

See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?

If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.

Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.

The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.

I know the answer to that. And I'm not lying. And that was not a lie. And neither is this. But that was. That was just a lie. And that was too.

yes but with some exceptions:

if you believe with all of your heart that something is true, but you are mistaken, than it's not a lie

if someone tells you a lie, you don't know they are lying and you repeat it, you are not lying

if you are crazy or mentally ill, you can't lie, because you don't know any better
