Your drinks will vary depending on what cruise company you travel with. Wine is between $5 and $7, cocktails start at about $7 and beers range from $3.50 and $8. There will be a 15% service charge on most ships but when all this is converted back to £'s its not all that bad. Plus when most of your food will be free, its not going to be that expensive!
Most ships will have a no cash policy, so you charge everything... so just be careful. This can be checked and paid off at any point during the cruise.

Alcohol is expensive on the cruise ships. That is how they get you for the free food. Anyhow - A drink ranges from 4-7 dollars depending on if its a mixed drink or a beer. I would say a bottle of beer was about 5 dollars on the Carnival Cruise I was on last year. I was with a group of people and we coudl buy a bucket of beer for like 18 dollars.. It knocked down the price of buying each beer individually. Good luck -- have fun!

It's actually not that bad. But I'm used to paying $5 for a pint of Sam Adams. The nice part is they automatically include tip of 15%, so where I'd normally throw in an extra dollar, its all set. I was drinking coronas, they had buckets of 4 for $15. Regardless, I never paid more than $5 including tip, for a drink, to me, that's cheap.
Just be careful of the specialty drink glasses, thats how they get you. If you get a drink, tell them without the glass, otherwise you'll have a stack full of plastic glasses you paid an extra $3-$4 for a piece.

It is hard to give you a price because the cruise ships are charging more and more for all these "extra" things. They expect to make a lot of money from the bar so expect your bar tab ot be at least double or more than what you pay on land.

Regarding the comment about the 15% tip you CAN remove this although you are NOT told this you just need to request this be done.
Drinks are expensive and the tip is charged whether you go to the bar yourself or have table service.
There are always specials of the day and some ships have happy hours.

Drink prices are in the $4 to $7 range usually. Drink specials are changed every day and are about $4.50. Beer is in the $3.50 to $4.50 range.
You will automatically be charged an extra 15%, too. This is their tip. It is not an option.

Can't tell you this but have been on a cruise. You have an onboard credit card issued to you on boarding which you use instead of cash on the boat. A couple who were at our table ran theirs up getting plastered each night. Good company though. When we were waiting to leave the ship all we heard were their names being called over the speakers to come and settle their bill or they couldn't leave the ship!!

When I went 2 years ago you could get 6 beers in a bucket for 6 dollars. How they did this, I have no idea, but somehow I always found myself giving the waiter or waitress a 10 or 20...

some Cruise businesses furnish a pay once selection for soda pop. i replaced into on the Princess first light. Mine ran about $37 for a week lengthy cruise, yet I drank soda lots of the time so it replaced into ordinary to easily flash a card and get a soda. Alcohol beverages ran me about $7 or $8 each plus tip. i presumed it replaced into functional, yet having suggested that, i'm used to paying that and larger for beverages in l. a..

Forget the prices. Like me, if you are a Cruiser, you will count the cost of drinks as part of your holiday and not worry. Enjoy. I will be on 21st April!!
