I mean no Garden of Eden equals no original sin equals no god that would be mad at you for something you didn't do. Why in the world would you cling to that over evolution, where nature is set in motion and always leaves room for PROGRESS, which includes religious/spiritual progress? Do you really prefer a god that hates you?

Evolution is true..we see it all around us..in animals, disease, plants, people..etc. The Bible is a wonderful collection of Stories..nothing more nothing less. We all know you can't fit two of every animal in the world on a boat, you can't live inside a whale, there is no such thing as giants , you can't kill someone by stabbing them in the heel, the list could go on for ever. Its a sad fact we are all going to die one day but, that's all there is nothing more nothing less. Like turning off a light switch and some people can't come to grips with the reality of that so they cling to religion.

I wonder how these foilks imagine that God does not hate humanity. It says so right in their "holy" book. That humanity is so depraved and sin-ridden that God cannot tolerate our presence...or even our very existence. Yet he is somehow "merciful" by deciding not to wipe us all out "as we deserve" and "loving" by sacrificing himself to himself to save us against his own wrath. They seem to forget that God was supposedly the one to make up these magical rules in the first place.

The ToE is not "kinder" than religion. It is simply a description of the process by which living things change over time. It is not kind or cruel. It just is. And the ToE says NOTHING about God or other nonsense. The only thing it does in that front is dispute a literal reading of Genisis as actual history (a ludicrous proposition in the first place, since there is zero supporting evidence for such).

Give me an example of evolution. As I see it, there are variations within groups, but no proof or fossil record of slow, transitional changes, say, from an dinosaur to a dog. There may be connecting fossils or examples of evolution from sparrow to pigeon, for example, but not from lizard to mammal, or whale to hippo, or ect.
Show me where one species "evolved" into another.
Show me how life developed from no life.
Why is there sexual reproduction? What purpose does it serve? Wouldn't it be better if we could just multiply like amoeba?
Show me where dinosaurs "evolved" into birds. (NOT archeopteryx, since it is the ONLY example of a bird 150 million years ago that I've ever heard of. I'm sure its tired of carrying all the weight.)

Let me start off by correcting your misperception about having a God who hates us. The god who hates is the god of this world, the one who gets people to blow themselves up in the middle of a group of innocent civilians, to fly planes full of fellow humans into buildings to maximize the death and pain and agony, who concockts all manner of lies in order to get people to hate each other and go to war where we kill many more children and women than we do enemy soldiers. The god of this world is out to kill or destroy every good thing there is in this world. The god of this world is not the same as the God of The Garden of Eden.

The God of The Garden of Eden created mankind in His own image, and gave us a free will, so that we would not be forced to obey Him, but rather we could choose to obey Him, once we get to know Him and discover that He is a God of Love, that He in fact IS Love. He allows us to do our own thing, make our mistakes, flat out willingly sin in any manner we choose, just so He can have the opportunity to show us that Love is patient, kind, longsuffering. To show us that Love hopes all things, among them that we will some day see the error of our ways and repent. Love belives all things, that we are worth the effort and the sacrifice on His part.

In the boardgame Monopoly you can get a "get out of jail free card". All you have to do is accept the card when it comes your way, believe that it really works, and use it.

In our walk through this life we are presented with the means to get out of personally paying for all of our sins. We are offorded a free "enter into eternal life" pass.
The name is JESUS. Satan tried to destroy Jesus by having Him tortured and murdered because satan knew that Jesus was our only chance. Jesus triumphed over sin in life, and He triumphed over the grave in death.

Jesus is alive and well today, and He says;
"I am the resurrection and the Life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." John 11:25, 26.

Does that sound like a God who hates you??I don't think so!!

Yes, evolution is much kinder than religion, I suppose. I've always wondered why the really religious people shun the concept and instead believe that everyone has to believe in THEIR God and if not, rot in hell or be a supporter of the "Anti-Christ". It's quite stupid, if you ask me. Our genes are constantly mutating and changing to improve us, what's so bad about accepting that?

Evolution means no God.
No God means no eternal life.

How is that progress?

With out God how do you have religion that can Progress (unless you count evolution as a religion)?

I don't care whether or not evolution is kinder. It is what is supported by the evidence, so I believe that it is how life came about.

Kinder? Natural selection is far from kind. Extinction is inherent in evolution. Religions, on the other hand, offer external existence. You pick... death or life.

The Garden story is messed up. "I've endowed you with curiosity and placed you next to this tree, but don't go near it!"

Evolution is fair, not really kind. It takes what works, leaves what doesn't.
