Yeah, that and wallowing in self pity to get attention so they can cram the holy ghost down your throat.
You wind a Christian up and they first stick their head in the sand, then up their rear, then in the sand, then up their rear, then in the sand, then up their rear.........for eternity until their battery runs down then they get resurected.
What really worries me is at any moment now, their big invisible god could decide to kill everybody and everything, again, with a big flood. Such a lovely leader to follow. That's why I'm in negotiations to buy the top of Mt. Everest. I plan to rent boats from up there and make a fortune..

Well the thing about AIDS being God's punishment-I haven't actually heard anyone say that since the eighties. Seriously outdated. Even pastors don't say that any longer. And the SIDS babies thing--if there was an analogy there I missed it. Were you perhaps hoping that some of the Fred Phelps gang was in residence to argue with you? Personally Fred Phelps is not what I or any other sane person would consider to be a Christian. The man is demented.

You're absolutely right!
It's just that some of us will only live so long so we need to find a meaning for life (and afterlife). You will live forever, so don't have to bother looking for a meaning beyond that.
It's us Christians who are the weak ones, the fragile ones, the ones that don't have the balls to believe that life never ends, and meaning is really found in useful idols such as TV, fashion, money and lust.
Man, what was I thinking?

Those who lean unto there own understanding of scripture are leading others astray and blinded by their "pride!" But this has to occur for the Kingdom of God is coming to this earth and establish His way as the only way.
Pride is man's downfall. The End of the circle of man's self rule will be the beginning of Christ's Kingdom but that "pride" must be broken first!

"Are christians genetically programmed to completely miss sarcasm and analogy"
Error! Error! Does not compute! Does not compute! System going into overload! Shut down! Shut down!....
Whew, that was a close one. What was the question again?

LOL. except it's not genetics, it is upbringing.
I would say "God" resides where the humor detection nodes are for normal people. It also takes up part of the logic circuits, hence all the "Pascal's Wagers"

Na - we just try to hold ourselves to higher standards than the world does. So we try not to respond when taunted by ignorance. But if you have an intellectual question than I would love to share an open minded discussion with you.

Certainly not.
C.S. Lewis was an atheist THEN he became a Christian. Was he GENETICALLY different after his conversion?
Or was this question a sarcasm and analogy? In THAT case this Christian certainly missed it.
