Statement 1: People say that Marijuana is a "gateway drug," but personally, I think 'milk' is a gateway drug/substance. 98% of people that use hard drugs drank milk between the ages of infancy - 5 yrs old.

Statement 2: God does exist - he is what you make him. If I decide to worship a rock and live my life the way I think a rock would expect me too and pray to the rock the way one would pray to the Man upstairs then that works as a God for me. I've tried it, and my prayers were answered about 50/50 in both cases. <~~last line borrowed from George Carlin

Statement 1 is tongue in cheek and meant as a spoof on the scientific approach.
Statement 2 is a serious recommendation. However the 50/50 outcome to prayer shows that he had no idea about how to pray. Proper prayer is successful 100% of the time.

Re: Statement 1... I think an addictive personality is the gate-way drug. If we want to split hairs, then alcohol is the gate-way. Your inhibitions are lower so you're more apt to try things out, yet it's legal! In my Halcion Days (late teens to late 20's), I tried everything except heroin. I by-passed weed and went straight to coke, then X, GHB, ketamine, and THEN weed. I've not touched a drug in 7yrs, so if you're going to try things, do so with a solid head on your shoulders. I know the statement was rhetorical, but I had to answer it.

Re: #2...Think about this- all things traditionally considered holy- angels, ghosts, visions of heaven, the presence of god- are all magnificent things to those who perceive them, yet not everyone does. The existence of all of them is arguable... so much so that real people have been killing and being killed over them. I for one don't believe, but whatever gets you through the day. As for praying to a rock, I'd me more inclined to do so. Google "the gaia hypothesis" and you'll find that worshipping a rock is not so "out there" my friend.
