I have to be honset here, looking for someone based upon looks is not the best way to go a bout things.
My guess is that your mom is interested in you continuing to connect to your Native American cultural heritige. That's something that is growing more and more important to many people....Especially parents.
What I would do if I were you, is simply date whom you like for the moment, but start keeping track of personality a little more than looks. Most relationships that start among younger kids nowadays are NOT statistically likley to last - so look at them as learnign experiences.
Give some Native boys a chance - and see what the White boys think of your native heritage. If your mom and res of the family is "into" the Native Culture of whichever tribe you belong to, bring along your "snag" and see what HE thinks of the Drum, the Giveaway, the Pow-wow and the darkened ceremony house.
His looks are not going to matter a hoot if he's not willign to accept those important parts of your culture. If he cannot "get into" family now - it's not likley that he will later - when YOU have HIS family in YOUR belly. Remember that.

It seems a bit odd that your mom had an interracial relationship, yet she doesn't approve of you doing so...I would sit down and talk with her calmly. Just tell her that love is love, and there should be no race involved, and that you seem to be more attracted to white guys. Using your own parents as an example might be a good way to put it...goodluck!

Hair and looks don't hold up all that well over time...especially the hair for many men... Just marry the one you love and adore, and your mom can just know that she can either accept him or at least be polite and just deal with it.

First of all..dont be so shallow...its inside that counts..second....dont let your mom tell you who to love...you dont need to be defiant...just live your own life..and ummm, if your partly white...but your mom doesnt approve of you dating a white boy, isnt that kind of a double standard???

Don't live for "hair and looks" because there are scary good looking guy out there ;) Just tell your mom it wouldn't matter who you love, as long as they are nice.
