my dog is bleeding from the vagina, its disgusting, the vet said it was normal, but she is staining the floor, and the cat licks it up, and then licks the kids and the plates.

Is this normal? Its only just started happening, I think I might take her back and get a different dog. How else can I stop it?

Sounds like she is in heat. She needs to be spayed. This is normal for her. I lasts 10 to 14 days. They have special pad and stuff for this at the pet store. My beagle is in heat right now too. I got her blocked in the living room. tile floor. And make sure you keep her away from males. They can still get pregant for about another week or so after the bleeding stops. Its not her fault. If you don't have her spayed she will do this again in the fall. Usually spring and fall. The cat is just attarted to the blood. Tell the kids not to let the animals lick them and keep animals away from dinner ware.

Get her spayed - asurgery to remove her uterus and ovaries. She is in heat, which is normal for females that haven't been spayed. And keep her away from intact male dogs until this is over or you could end up with more mess - from a lot of puppies. It will end in 10 days or so but it will happen again in a few months. It's best for her long-term health to spay her.

Didn't your vet tell you about this option? Vets do this surgery almost every day. Many animal shelters will do this surgery for low cost.

If you go and get a male dog instead, you'll need to get him neutered, otherwise he'll be running off to find females all the time.

she has got her period. it is normal for all girl dogs but if you want it to stop so she won't have puppies than you get her nuetered but you have to ask the vet if it is ok first or you can put a diaper on her and when she needs to go to the bathroom take it off and as soon as she is done put it back on. My dog has her period right now but we let her on the kitchen floor so it can be mopperd up or in a cage until it is over , but we still need to let her out to go to the bathroom

It's perfectly normal, if she is not fixed. She's in heat, and she is having her period. This will go on for 1 week to 15 days. There is no way, you can stop it yourself. The only way to stop it, is to get her fixed by a vet.

is the dog spayed? If not it is normal. And you can get her doggie diapers for this until you do get her spayed. did you get her from a shelter? because shelters are suppose to make sure the dog is spade before you get her. If she is spayed and bleeding this is not normal and you need another vet.

if it continues to bleeding from the vagina then it might be because it could be broken or sometime it can swollen but if still bleeding then still need to find the best vet to take to research to see what wrong because not all vet will say it normal, sometime vet can lie to you and still need to find a good vet to see about the bleeding part.

She's in heat and will probably bleed between 4-10 days. You need to get her spayed as soon as she's out of heat.
