Is the Iraq government ever going to protect their own people?

The people of the USA are sick of protecting the Iraq government if they refuse to help. They expect the USA to protect them, but they refuse to help. Americans are sick of defending a country of that refuses to help protect theirself.

I look at it this way. What are the major religions in the middle east? I would suspect that Christianity is fairly low on that pole. Please correct me if I'm wrong. What are the major religions over here (U.S.)? I would suspect that Christianity is fairly high on that pole. You've got millions of people who are in complete chaos, not worshiping Jesus. Do you really think that they will be able to govern themselves EVER?

From as far back as I can remember (some 30+ years), when ever I saw media clips of the middle east all they were ever doing is blowing each other up, and protesting in the streets. Don't these people have jobs? And why are they so insistent on killing each other?

We need to bring our troops home, and spend the billions of dollars that we were going to spend on this war, trying to come up with a better solution to our own energy problem.

Countries like Iraq are regions where sub-nations/ groups are inimical to each other and wants to fight. You can suppress such violent infighting only by creating Saddams to rule or divide these countries in to many countries. Either you allow Iraq1, Iraq2 and Iraq3 to be created or create another Saddam. There is no question of Iraqis protecting themselves in the current size and Mix of groups. Us strategy on paper may be democracy in Iraq but the goal that will get achieved is creating another Saddam to rule or split Iraq into smaller pseudo democracies. Why should the US do this? To keep a real tab on terrorist attacks on US interest and keep the World away from World war even if allowing small battles to be fought all the time.

Iraq Government exists because the USA money and military
gave it life and keeps it alive. Who are "...their own people?"
Certainly not just anyone in Iraq. It is a land divided by religion and clan factions. What Iraqi expect is another Saddam and they'll get one using American paid resources.
They refuse (our) help because the different players have all they need to claim things using lethal means. Americans are
not sick but rather tired of being treated like a fool by both Iraqi and our elected public officials in Washington D.C.

This is all about religions and not about our democracy. The so called leaders of the Iraqi government refuse to give any concessions to the Sunni because of the Saddam regime.

Think of it in the simplest and logical way. Let's say your neighbor has a domestic problem and that you offered your help. What would you do if your neighbor refused your help and tells you to leave them alone and mind your own business?. Would you take out your shotgun and take over your neighbor's house, poke the shotgun into their faces then tell them that you only wanted to help them?. Or would you just leave them alone and let them sort out their own problems?.

They are protecting themselves. They are just very new at it and they are getting no help from their neighbors. The violence has actually decreased in Iraq in recent days.
