You've probably damaged it by straightening it too much - that will happen even if you are protecting it. The only solution is to try to straighten it less, and perhaps give it a hot-oil treatment or too to try to undo some of the damage. Good luck!

Hey
I totally understand yr situation I had the same problem. After many trips to salons and spending lots of money and still ending up with dry ends I decided to go back to how I used to treat my hair when I was younger.
My advice to you is firstly see exactly what type hair you have. Is it dry as soon as you have washed it? Does it get oily quickly? As I dont know I will advice to what extent I can.

Firstly get a trim, if your hair is really damaged your hairdresser may try and cut it shorter than you want, if you are nt prepared to lose the lenght tell them jst to take as many split ends off as possible.
Stick with loreal and try and find a shampoo made for split ends or dry and damaged hair, stay with the conditioner you have if you want to.
Do a hot oil treatment on your hair and then two days later use a deep mask conditioner (the ones you leave in your hair for upto half an hour with a heated towel wrapped round it).
Use this mask every three days for the first week and a half and then once ever week after that, and then when your hair has recovered only when you need it on particularly dry days.
Also when you wash your hair use only a fifty pence size of shampoo and only apply to the scalp make sure it is all washed out before you apply your conditioner, dont scrub the ends of your hair as they are more likely to split. Leave your normal conditioner on for at least three mins before you wash it out.
Try and go for a few days without washing your hair and brush gently starting at the ends and try and detangle best you can without being rough.
When it comes to straightening, section your hair into small segments and put the straighteners on the lowest setting, start at the top and run down the length counting to four as you go dont worry if its not all straight do more sections and then brush your hair. When its done if doesnt feel too straight for you get the irons and get a random clump, brush and re straighten by this time the straighteners will be hotter so will work better but more of your hair will be undamaged as you have not fried it all on the hottest setting.
Try and use a protection spray on your hair and spray some on the plates of your irons too and it should help.
Try doing a different hairstyle on some days so you are nt straightening your hair everyday and see if that helps too.
Anyway that should keep you going for a while.

Sounds as if you are frying your hair. You need to go and have your split ends cut off and use a really good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, you might want to think about a leave in conditioner one or twice a week. I would talk with your salon and ask what they recommend. It also sounds as if you may have your straightener turned to high or you are leaving it in your hair to long. When you pull it threw your hair it should be done in a even sweep motion all the down past the ends of your hair. Hope this helps.

Your hair has been damaged and is breaking and nothing but cutting it off is going to help. The heating element you use on it to straighten it everyday is what is damaging it and will continue to damage it as long as you are using it. Maybe only use this on special occasions, this way your hair won't get as damaged as it is now once you have all the dead ends cut off. You also need to have a good protein conditioner put on your hair a couple times a month. Go to a salon and they will tell you the same thing I am telling you.
Good Luck.

hey lulu,

well it could be caused bu different things

-change of weather
-change of shampoo-
-to much straightening
-over you for a hair cut
-recently coloured your hair??

etc etc

what you need to is-

buy a shampoo and conditioner that works on haor that is damaged!

buy a conditioner that has a reconstructor in it! this will help repair damage to your hair and build a barrier to future damage!

if you have recenlty coloured your hair it will be brittlel for about the next 6 weeks continue using good shampoos and conditioners!

STRAIGHTENING hair EVERYDAY is very bad for the hair, it burns it, destroys texture takes all goodness out of the hair that shapoos and conditions put in the hair!

try to not straighten your hair everyday, if thats kinda impossible cause you prefer straight hair try not to straighten the same bit of hair more the once! go over it slowly not fast so the steam straightens the hair the first time!

try also using a hair straightener protector conditioner that you apply to your hair before or during straightening hair!

if you follow the above you will see a direct improvement!

good luck honey!

get the split ends trimmed off. then use sunsilk thermashine shampoo, conditioner and spray. it`ll protect your hair against future damage. also try to cut back on straightening, im not saying that you cant straighten it at all, but if you only do it 2-3 times a week, you`ll be damaging it alot less. good luck!

Your hair is dry and damaged. Look for a hydrating conditioner that you can use everyday, as well as a hair mask that will put some moisture back in your hair. Also, look for styling products that will put a barrier between the iron and your hair to minimize damage. My hair gets really dry from irons, so I invested in one with ceramic plates. It heats from inside the hair shaft so the outside doesn't get dry. Try Hot Tools brand...it will run you about $45 and is worth it.

Straightening your hair everyday is not good at all. even if you use protective stuff on it before. buy pantene pro v shampoo and conditioner and wash your hair everyother day. washing it to much can make ur hair like tht too becuz youre washing out ur natural oils thts good for your hair so if you shower everyday put on a shower cap. you also might wana buy a hot oil treatment for your hair .. you can get them from the store, they are easy to put in ur hair and its not expensive. it will make ur hair shiny and smooth. it will get greasy at the end of the treatment becuz your putting oils in ur hair. but wash it after it will look great!

hi again lulu the problem is when you use a certian product for too long it starts to get used to the treatment and rebels try using a different product,eg.loreal anti frizz shampoo conditioner and serum, try coating your hair in conditioner and wrapping it up in a warm towell for a few hours should do the trick.failing that wash your hair in washing up liquid because it could be a product build up and washing up liq strips your hair of all grime.goodluck x
