I've seen several instances on Y! where parents refer to their child as being 20 months old or even 27 months old. What gives?

At what point did you drop the "months" and start saying, he's a year and a half or, she's a little over 2? At what point SHOULD parents drop the months?

Well, Dr's still ask for age in months for a while, like 3 because every month makes a difference in development but when people ask I would say around 3 years old or 2 1/2

I think it is mostly a medical thing, because the body changes a lot faster in the first 2 years than almost any other time. At my work, we "months" on any of the documents
(incident/illness reports...etc.) up until the child turns two, so that's where I think it should give way to years when medically speaking, maybe one-and-a-half otherwise. Either way, we still call them the one-year-olds.

BTW: I've also heard weeks used up until two or three months.

Drop the months at age 2. It gets confusing for people when they have to do the math every time they want to know how old your kid is.

Hi, I'm 396 months, lol, my daughter is 2, and I tell people she is 2, you shouldn't keep doing the month thing after 2 years old.

So, let me get this straight.
You're sitting around, twiddling your thumbs with nothing to do, bored as hell and so decided to multiply your age times twelve and present to us the fascinating, earth-shattering news that instead of being over 25 years of age you're instead 309 months old? Unbelievable!
