This changes, for me , from night to night. I generally go over my day and can do this quickly if nothing important happened. But if a significant incident came my way that particular day I might be up all night. Then I usually go over what to do the next day--like a mental check-list. Then I think about the people and maybe my pets in my life--and good-grief it's already 2am. Then the alarm clocks rings and I say to myself"Good-Grief."

I tend to repeat positive affirmations verbally as I fall asleep. Books says that the last thing you think about will sink into your sub conscious when you enter sleeping mode.

i try not to think because if i start thinking i will be up all night thinking and not get any sleep
