Like everyone else says, ask your doctor about medication which is suitable for pregancy. Also, make sure the dog and the house is kept clean. I was allergic to dogs...snotty nose, sneezes, swollen face, wheezing, everything. But since i've got a dog, it cleared up within 3 or 4 weeks. Your body gets used to dealing with it, and slowly you loose the allergy altogether. You tend to find that kids who have pets from when they are little do not develop an allergy to that animal, unless they go a long period without it. This is because their body learns how to deal with the allergins.

If you do find your symptoms are really bad, i find that opening the windows and having a hot bath relieve the symptoms without medication.

1. ask your doctor if there is anything you can take while you are pregnant
2. perhaps you can stay like that and keep the dog, with no medication, is that really a problem? I mean is the allergy too bad? What if the dog stays outside in the garden or balcony? Or another room?
3. Can't you find someone to keep the dog until you give birth? Friend, relative, animal loving society, neighbour, or just someone who loves dogs, like from an ad?

When you are expecting your whole body chemistry changes and allergies pop up unexpected and some are unwanted. Since you can not take your prescription for allergies you may want to ask a family member to house your loving dog till baby is born then introduce the family pet to the bundle of joy. Your future bundle of joy is more important than the family pet for it is a beautiful blessing.

If you are allergic to the dog why do you have it? I wouldn't be taking any kind of allergy medicine if you are pregnant! Chances are you child might also be allergic...something to think about.
Just make sure if you do give it away (which will be very hard but better for you) make sure it goes to a good home.

how do you know you are allergic,, there are many things you can take,,, consult your doctor and he will be able to guide you.. have your spouse brush dog outside daily. and give your dog a bath once a week. it is not the dog it is his dander that usually makes people allergic..... so what if you sneeze ... isn't he worth it?
